The stadium was full and there was probably more excitement around the pitch then in the game. The two teams managed to contain each other. The players were tense and this led to a lot of technical errors.

Consequently the first team to have a goal opportunity was the visitors’. But Fernando Prass did a good save. In the first half, Felipe’s experience in the midfield saved Vasco from sinking. The player brought stability to the team, organizing the game.

Vasco had a better start at the beginning of the second half. And after only five minutes they managed to score the goal that maybe will decide to whom the trophy will go. Diego Souza passed the ball on the right flank to Allan, who crossed to Alecsandro. The striker scored with a beautiful header.

The goal didn’t change much to the game. Both teams were still making a lot of technical mistakes and controlling each other in the midfield. Slowly Coritiba started to take the upper hand, pressuring Vasco. And as the end of the game was approaching the pressure grew.

But the score remained 1-0 for Vasco, who now more than never has a chance to put an end to eight years without trophies.
