One day before the start of the biggest tournament in South America, Sambafoot journalists put their opinions together to take a guess at who is going to win the 2011 edition and who will be the best player, here are the results!
We will start with the players.
Who will be the best player of the Copa America 2011?
There are no surprises in the answer to that one! 60% of the team choose the actual best player in the world: Lionel Messi. Apart from him only three others players were pointed out. The second place goes to the Brazilian Paulo Henrique Ganso and the third place is a tie between another Brazilian Neymar and the Uruguayan Luis Suares.
Fun Fact: Nobody chose the last world cup best player: Diego Forlan.

Who will be the top scorer?
Nine players were picked out and four are playing for Argentina. It is the most balance result of the poll. But the official winner is the Brazilian Neymar who received 22% of the votes. Right behind him are Carlos Tevez and Messi with 15%.

Now concerning the teams:
Who will reach the Semis?
Costa Rica, Mexico, Bolivia and Peru are the only teams that didn’t receive any votes. All the other were picked up by at least one member of Sambafoot. According to the journalist the semi finals would be: Argentina vs Colombia and Brazil Vs Uruguay.

Who will reach the final?
Argentina is the grant favourite. Brazil comes second but with a much lower score.

3º Uruguai 38%
Those are the only three teams that received votes in this category meaning that 62% of the journalists beleive the final will be between Argentina and Brazil and 38% beleive it will be Argentina vs Uruguay.
Who will be champion?
The finalists of the past two edition are of course the main favourites for this year’s edition. Both team received the same amount of votes with Uruguay far behind.
