After a disappointing start with only one goal in two games and no win, Argentina woke up and scored three in the third game of the group stage. They finished second of their group and qualified for the knock-out stage with five points.

Once more Argentina will count on their genius player, Messi who despite a good game against Costa Rica still has to win the hearts of the fans. Argentina will also count on their striker Sergio Aguero who is the top scorer in the tournament with three goals.

Uruguay equally had a bad start and also finished second of their group with five points. Of course Forlan remains their main player but amazingly their best scorer in the tournament so far is the defender Alvaro Pereira. The Celeste will be playing without their striker Cavani who is still injured. And if Uruguay win, it will be their fifth appearance in a raw in the semi finals of the Copa America.

The last confrontation between Argentina and Uruguay ended with Argentina’s victory. The winner will face either Colombia or Peru (the other quarter final of the day) in the semis.

Probable line ups:

Argentina: Romero; Zabaleta, Burdisso, G. Milito, Zanetti; Gago, Mascherano; Aguero, Messi, Di Maria; Higuain.

Uruguay:  Muslera; M. Pereira, Lugano, Victorino, Caceres, A. Pereira; Gonzalez, Perez, Rios; Forlan, Suarez.
