Garrincha, Brazil eternal number 7, signed a one game contract with Junior Barranquilla, the town’s club. It is the only time in his career that Garrincha played for a team outside of Brazil.

Before Pele became the Selecao playmaker, the Auriverde could count on Dida, Flamengo star of all time. Dida played from 1966 to 1968 with Junior Barranquilla and scored 46 goals.

Other Brazilian played at the Club, like Pepe Romeiro, Quarentinha and Olton Valentin contributing to Brazil’s fame in Barranquillo. And maybe that is why the youngsters of the Selecao feel at home there.
