Ronaldinho, 31, recently made the headlines for his scintillating display in Flamengo"s 5-4 victory away to Santos, in which he scored a hat-trick. He followed this up with the second goal in the club"s 2-0 win over Gremio last night.

Now Luxemburgo, his coach at Flamengo, says that the skillful forward may make a return to the Seleção set-up. Speaking to reporters after the Santos game, Luxemburgo praised the ex-Barcelona player.

“After just 90 minutes of play, people started to talk about the need for Ronaldinho to play for the Brazil national team," he said. “He has always been available for selection and now the situation is changing.

“Great games like tonight [Thursday] against Santos only motivates the best players even more," continued Luxemburgo. “If he wants to, he can get the [Brazil] number ten jersey back again. What I must do is help him to play football. Now, it just depends on the player."

Ronaldinho has 88 caps for Brazil, but missed out on last summer"s World Cup squad under previous manager Dunga. So far he has only played once during Mano Menezes" reign, in the 1-0 defeat to Argentina in a friendly last November.
