“Today I’m convinced that the best tactical scheme is 4-2-3-1,” he said. “That’s the most modern one and the one that works the best. If you look at the goals in today’s football it always comes from the wing. It’s better to use a winger than to make the full backs run back and forth. Hopefully, at the end of the League the results will prove that I’m right.”
Junior was probably influenced by one of Botafogo legends: Garrincha. The winger played most of his career at Botafogo and today a picture of him welcomes the visitors in the clubs’ headquarters. “I say hello to him when I pass in front of the picture,” admitted Junior.
