The Turin club failed in several bids to bring the centre-back into the club over the summer but are now looking to strike a deal for a January transfer.

Sambafoot understands that Juventus value the 25-year-old at around £5.5 million but Sao Paulo want closer to £9m if they are going to sell the player.

Rhodolfo’s representatives yesterday revealed that the player has agreed terms with the Italian side and desperately wants to compete in the UEFA Champions League.

However, with Tricolor reluctant to sell and Juventus some way of the valuation of the player, the Old Lady could switch targets.

Some reports in the Italian press today suggested Luisao is being looked at by manager Antonio Conte to bring some experience to the back-line.

The 30-year old Brazilian international has been at Benfica since 2003 but Juve believe he could be tempted away from the Estadio da Luz if the offer was right.
