The seven times capped midfielder picked up a left calf strain in his second half appearance for Tottenham in the North London derby on Sunday.
It remains to be seen how long he will be sidelined, but Corinthians’ anchor-man Ralf has been called up as a replacement.
Following an impressive Brasileirão campaign, Ralf made his international bow against Germany in August and now has three caps to his name following the Superclassico de las Américas double-header with Argentina.
