Matheus, now 17, was born during the 1994 World Cup and prompted the famous ‘cradle-rocking’ celebration of Bebeto and his companions.
An attacking midfielder, Matheus is now following in his dad’s footsteps en-route to becoming a professional footballer.
Bebeto was attending the opening of Rio State FA’s new headquarters today and confirmed his son was progressing well at Flamengo.
“He is there at Flamengo and will move up to play with the youth team now.”
