Striker Deivid, the catalyst for Sunday"s 5-1 defeat of Cruzeiro believes that, now just three points from the summit, Flamengo can win the title – if they avoid any more slip-ups.

“For now we can celebrate a tough victory," said the league"s second top scorer. “We will have a tough game with Coritiba [next weekend], and there are now only five games remaining. We cannot mess-up any more."

Two more goals on Sunday takes the much derided striker to 15 goals for the season, but for now, he is just focussed on the aims of the team.

“Before, we were worrying about others, but now we decided to do our part."

“If we focus on ourselves and not on others, winning our games, it becomes easier."
