According to Brazil’s Lance! newspaper, the Italian giants are asking for €5 million in exchange for the player, in order to match the fee that the Nerazzurri themselves paid for Forlan’s services last summer.

Last year’s champions, Corinthians already boast one of the best squad’s in Brazil, but the Timão board are also widely reported to be looking for a big-name signing to boost the club’s brand identity.

In recent months, the São Paulo based side have been heavily linked with Cruzeiro’s Argentine midfielder Walter Montillo, as well as former-star Carlos Tevez.

Lance! believes that the club have also made enquiries over Porto striker Kleber, Villarreal’s Nilmar and Benfica’s Oscar Cardozo in their search for a star.
