Guilherme, 23, was one of the stars of the Ponte Preta team that defeated Corinthians in the quarter-finals of this year’s Paulista state championships and arrives to fill the gap at right-back vacated by the injured Edenilson and Alessandro.
“All I am as a professional I dedicate to Ponte Preta,” William said on arrival. “It was Ponte who revealed me, Ponte who invested in me and Ponte who taught me everything I know.
“I am hugely grateful to Ponte, to the board and all at the club. I will always follow them and take them with me.”
The full-back, who joined Ponte Preta in 2009, scored three times in the Paulista championship, catching the eye as his side achieved an unexpected semi-final finish.
