Marquinhos, captain of the Brazil Under-17 side at last year’s World Cup, and Antônio Carlos, who recently captained Brazil Under-20’s, are both held in high-regard by the club and have been handed opportunities this season, despite their age.

Marquinhos, in particular, has been handed chances in the first-team during the state championships, starting eight games for his side.

“Our goal is to maintain the rhythm of the first-choice defenders,” Marquinhos told Lancenet! “We will look to keep playing well and not to concede.”
