Considered by many to have been the best game of the 2011 Brasileirão, Flamengo took on Santos at the Vila Belmiro on July 27 in a defining game for many involved.

Ibson, 28, made his Santos debut that day and now will find himself lining up for then opponents Flamengo on Sunday, having made the switch to Rio to rejoin his former side last month.

Recalling the game, Ibson said: ”Now I’m on the other side. It was a great spectacle. We lost 5-4 and it was my debut. I hope it is the same again, that Santos lose and we can do our job at home.

”I had never played against Flamengo before, the team who brought me into football. This game is a big part of my history.”

For Ibson, Flamengo must continue to perform as they did in the last match of the Brasileirão against Coritiba, their first without Ronaldinho.

”At half-time we had done very well. We pressed and managed to score twice,” he added.

”In the second-half, we were a bit tired after travelling to Campinas to play Ponte Preta in midweek. Now, we must be aggressive. We must press.”
