Corinthians midfielder Romarinho has spoken of his luck at joining Corinthians following the club’s triumph in the Copa Libertadores.

Romarinho, 21, who joined Corinthians just last month, scored the crucial equalising goal at La Bombonera ahead of the side’s 2-0 victory over Boca Juniors in the home leg on Wednesday night.

The former-Bragantino playmaker is now writing headlines after three goals in the space of a week for Timão, but believes he got lucky with his momentous goal.

“I am very happy to have come here and to now have a place in the club’s history,” he told reporters. “I was simply in the right place at the right time.”

Romarinho became the first player to score in a Libertadores final whilst making their debut appearance, as well as laying the platform for his side’s first ever win in the competition.
