Brazil defender Danilo helped Udinese to a 3-2 victory over Liverpool in the Europa League clash at Anfield.

Danilo, 28, was part of the Udinese defence which withstood the Liverpool attack as Italian striker Antonio Di Natale tore the Reds defence apart on the counter attack.

Liverpool dominated the first half, as Jonjo Shelvey started a move which he finished by meeting Stewart Downing’s cross with a guided header into the bottom corner.

The Italians came out fighting in the second half and immediately scored an equalizer through Di Natale after a Glen Johnson error let substitute Lazarri in to cross in for the Italian striker to hit a volley beyond Reina.

Udinese then went 2-1 up courtesy of an unfortunate own goal by Liverpool’s Sebastian Coates as he headed into his own net from a set piece.

Di Natale was in the mix once more as he delivered a pass for defender Pasquale to smash in a shot from outside of the box for the third goal.

Suarez reduced the deficit through a superb free kick but it was too little, too late for Liverpool as Udinese held on to victory.

Brazil’s Willians also came on as a substitute halfway through the second half.
