Atlético Mineiro striker Guilherme believes that when in the mood, there is no one in the world who could stop Ronaldinho. And he should know, having been privileged to play alongside the former world player of the year as he tore Figueirense apart on Saturday night.
It is for this reason that Guilherme, 23, believes that, with Ronaldinho in this kind of form, they can pull back the 6-point deficit to Fluminense and lift the Brasileirão title.
He said: “He ended the game and it will probably to be one of the best moments of his career. Even with all the sadness that he lived through off the field this week, he had the support of all his teammates and returned with a fantastic match.
“He is a distinguished player and vital for our team to continue the fight for the title. When he is inspired, no team in the world can stop him. He has proved this once again.”
The former Cruzeiro, Dynamo Kiev and CSKA Moscow striker was pleased 6-0 victory but disappointed not to get on the score sheet himself.
“I said during the week that it was an important match for me, I needed support of the fans and I got that support.
“There were several great goals and, most importantly, a significant result. Unfortunately, my shot hit the crossbar and was not a goal. It would have been a beautiful goal in this great performance of the whole team.”
