Coritiba will have midfielder Lincoln available again for their Thursday night clash with Fluminense in the Engenhão. Lincoln missed the 0-0 draw with Grêmio on Sunday through suspension after picking up 3 yellow cards, and then player is under no illusions as to who is Fluminense’s star man.

Speaking to Lancenet, he said: “Fred no comments. He is an above average player and it is not a wonder that he is the top scorer in the Brasileirão. He is very intelligent. Before the ball arrived, he is already thinking in about the next move and therefore we need to be careful.

“We know that besides him, the whole team of Fluminense is very balanced and they can still count on crowd factor. Still, we also have a good group and have been able to evolve much in recent games. I believe it will be a balanced showdown and hopefully this time we can leave with victory.”

The former Schalke 04 and Galatasaray midfielder also highlighted the need for his team to remain patient.

“It will be a game of patience for our team and we need to have the discipline to do everything the best way possible. We can not give space to Fluminense and at the same time we can not give up the attack, because if we get too deep, it will give them chances to dictate the pace they are accustomed. They need the victory, as they are fighting for the title and cannot afford a bad result. But we also need to win to climb up the table.”
