Grêmio head coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo expressed his displeasure at his sides poor finishing as once again they dropped 2 points. Luxemburgo was particularly unhappy with young striker Leandro who missed some key opportunities in the 1-1 draw with Bahia.

Leandro has been in good form recently but Luxemburgo was unhappy with the flashiness of the attempted finishes, when a clinical finish was what was required.

The coach told reporters after the game: “Leandro is just a boy, but he has to finish. He prefers to play with beautiful efficiency. Chances (for the goal), just on the right leg? Have to shoot.

Luxemburgo blamed Leandro’s misses on “technical errors” but was unhappy his team didn’t take the 3 points he felt they deserved.

“I’m going home today thinking we could have won. We had a game “to kill”. Bahia was fragile and we had a strategy. We were about to score three times. We had “to kill”

“We didn’t kill plus we almost died. Drawing is bad in this matter, but at least we won one point and still remains 5 games.”

Grêmio fell behind in the game in the 41st minute to a goal from Gabriel, but they got straight back into the game 1 minute later when Kleber equalised.
