The situation surrounding Cruzeiro striker Anselmo Ramon, who was involved in a fatal collision with a cyclist last week, has taken a turn for the worse, with investigators reporting that the player does not have a driving license.

Last Saturday, the striker collided with two cyclists at the side of highway BA-099 in Bahia state, leaving one dead and the other injured.

The chief prosecutor in Camaçari region has revealed that the lack of license could add between a third and a half to the eventual length of any sentence given.

The surviving cyclist has since insisted that the footballer was speeding at the time of the collision.

Cruzeiro have said that they will not comment on the matter due to legal proceedings, but have said that they will offer Anselmo Ramon any support or legal advice needed.

The player did not voluntarily report to give his version of events to police on Wednesday and will now, likely, be summoned to present himself
