His transfer to Fluminense may not have been officially announced, but attacking midfielder Rhayner has already spoken of his excitement at joining the Carioca side.
Rhayner, 22, may not have found the net this season, but contributed six assists to his team’s cause and has attracted attention from the likes of Santos.
However, it has been reported over the last few days that a deal to take him to league champions Fluminense has already been agreed and will be completed pending completion of a medical.
“My desire to play there is great. It would be an honour to wear a powerful shirt like this,” he told Radio Tupi.
“Every player aspires to play for a club like Fluminense, the Brazilian champions, who have a wonderful squad. If you play at Fluminense at the moment, you know you will compete for the Copa Libertadores title.”
It is reported that the attacking midfielder will undergo a medical examination at the Rio de Janeiro club next week.
