Sambafoot this week had the chance to interview Botafogo defender Antônio Carlos, formerly of Ligue 1 side Ajaccio. The defender spoke about French football with Sambafoot France, but below is an excerpt of his interview related to life at Botafogo.

How was your season at Botafogo?

The season was not great for me because I was injured a lot. I suffered two big injuries this year and I haven’t had too many opportunities to play. However, in each match that I played I felt good, even if I lacked rhythm. We were close to achieving our aim of Libertadores qualification.

You are now playing for the same club as Clarence Seedorf. What can you tell us about him?

He is a great professional. He knows his age, but he tries to give his best for the team. He deserves respect because has made his name at an international level.

What are the objectives for the club next year?

We want to win a national title. It was 1995 when the club last won the Brazilian league.
