Dynamo Kiev defender Leandro Almeida is hoping to complete a move to Cruzeiro for next season, having been linked the club in recent media reports.
Belo Horizonte-native Leandro Almeida, 25, came to prominence at Cruzeiro’s city rivals Atlético Mineiro, before heading to Ukraine in 2009 to join Dynamo Kiev.
The centre-back, though, is not worried about moving to the Blue side of the city, although he confirmed that no official negotiations have begun.
“I heard about it through the press. I heard my name mentioned with Cruzeiro,” the centre-back told Rádio Itatiaia.
“I am very happy, because Cruzeiro are a big team but I have not been approached by anyone so far—I am enjoying my holidays! If a good proposal arrives for Dynamo, then we can talk.”
In recent days Cruzeiro have been linked with a host of centre-backs including high-profile options Dedé, of Vasco da Gama, and PSG’s Uruguayan veteran Diego Lugano.
