VFL Wolfsburg right-back Fagner appears to be finally adjusting to life with the German club by impressing with his performance and goal in his team’s 2-0 friendly victory over Turkish giants Besiktas on Sunday.

With the German league suspended for it’s annual winter break, Wolfsburg have chosen Turkey as their destination and the training camp appears to have been good for Fagner, 23, who has suffered to adapt since moving to Wolfsburg from Vasco da Gama in the summer.

“We went to camp with the team basically all there, only without Naldo and Josué, who are suspended from the next game in the Bundesliga,” he told Lancenet!.

“The whole team played well, it was a safe performance. And to score a goal was important to start 2013 on the right foot. Individually speaking, last year was good, but this season has everything to be even better.”

Wolfsburg have one more friendly to play while in Turkey, they face the winner of Werder Bremen and Trabzonspor on Wednesday. They will return to action in the Bundesliga on 19th January when they will face Stuttgart at the Volkswagen Arena.
