Internacional claimed victory in the first GreNal classico of the 2013 season with a 2-1 victory against their great rivals Grêmio in Erechim on Sunday.

A goal each from Diego Forlan and Leandro Damião were the difference as the Internacional first team struggled to overcome a, mainly, Grêmio ‘B’ team. Fernando was the score for the Tricolor.

Grêmio have decided to use their reserves and younger players for the start of the Gauchão as they prioritised qualifying for the Copa Libertadores but their poor start has left them second from bottom of Group A with just one win in four games.

São José made it four wins out of four with a 1-0 home victory over Passo Fundo, Aldair scoring the only goal of the game 16 minutes into the second half.

That victory puts São José four points clear at the top of Group B and having yet to concede a goal.

And Santa Cruz continued their terrible start to the campaign with a 2-1 home defeat to Pelotas, for whom Clodoaldo and Fabiano Gadelha got the goals.
