Palmeiras have announced the signing of Porto striker Kléber on a six-month loan deal, with an option to make the switch permanent in the summer.
According to the club’s official website, Alviverde also have the option to extend his stay should they progress in the Copa Libertadores.
Kléber was set to be unveiled alongside fellow signing Ronny at the club’s academy on Friday, at approximately 11.30am local time.
The Brazilian is currently sidelined with a thigh injury, but should return to training within the next 10 days, with Palmeiras’ doctor Rubens Sampaio confirming the player is in the “final stages of recovery”.
Kléber started his career with Atlético Mineiro but rose to prominence after a successful two-year loan spell in Portugal with Marítimo, which prompted Porto to buy the striker for €2.3million in the summer of 2011.
He impressed with his early performances for the Portuguese side and earned a call up to the Brazil national team, before making his debut against Gabon in a friendly in November 2011.
However, a number of injuries have seen the 22-year-old lose his place in the first team and the striker has not hidden his desire to move on.
