São Paulo playmaker Paulo Henrique Ganso has admitted that he is yet to find the form he displayed at Santos since switching to the Morumbi in September.
The Brazil international joined the club from their cross city rivals for a fee of €9.1 million in September, following a difficult month of speculation.
Ganso is yet to make the impact that most São Paulo fans anticipated after arriving with a thigh injury and undergoing knee surgery, but the midfielder is determined to change that.
He said: “In all matches, either starting or on the bench, I give my best. I need to give a great performance like before. I want to help São Paulo to win a lot of trophies.
“Supporters expected much of me. Everybody knows my quality.”
The 23-year-old went on to say that he can accept being left on the bench by coach Ney Franco and will work hard to break into the first team.
“I have to respect the decision of the coach and my team-mates who are doing very well. With every game I play I gain more confidence,” he concluded.
Ganso has faced plenty of negative media coverage over the past twelve months but hopes to make the Brazil squad for the Confederations Cup in the country this summer.
