Jonas was among the scorers as Valencia conceded a late equaliser against local rivals Levante this evening.

The Brazilian grabbed his sixth league goal of the season at the Estadio de Mestalla, after scoring both goals in Los Che’s 2-2 draw with Real Zaragoza last time out.

It was Levante who struck first though as Iborra flicked his header past goalkeeper Vicente Guaita from a corner after 16 minutes of play.

However, Jonas restored parity ten minutes later when he pounced on some indecision in the penalty area to thump past Gustavo Munua.

Spanish striker Roberto Soldado then gave Valencia the lead heading into half time when he met a cross from Joao Pereira before unleashing an unstoppable volley.

The former Real Madrid forward went close to grabbing his 13th goal of the season when he hit the crossbar with 15 minutes remaining.

Levante’s Bakero went on to claim an unlikely equaliser when he drove at the Valencia defence before curling an effort into the bottom corner with less than two minutes remaining.

The dissapointing draw means that Valencia missed the opportunity to move into fourth place, ahead of Malaga’s game with Atlético Madrid tomorrow.

Next up for Ernesto Valverde’s side is a trip to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday, where they seek to overturn a 2-1 deficit.
