São Paulo midfielder Ganso believes that his side will pick up a win in their next Copa Libertadores fixture away at Arsenal di Sarandi, despite the absence of the suspended Luis Fabiano.

The two sides drew 1-1 in Brazil on Thursday night in a contentious game that saw striker Fabiano dismissed at the final whistle for complaints over a penalty awarded to the opposition early in the second-half.

While acknowledging that his team will lack their main goal threat in Fabiano’s absence, Ganso believes that São Paulo’s squad is strong enough to claim all three points in the away leg.

“He is our goalscorer but we have a very strong squad and we will look for three points next time,” Ganso told reporters. “I only heard about the red later when I arrived in the changing room, I don’t know what happened.”

Regarding his own personal performance levels, having appeared as a second half substitute, he added: “My confidence is growing, I want to start as soon as possible.”

São Paulo lie second in Group 3 with four points from their opening three Group Stage fixtures.
