Atlético Mineiro coach Cuca has hailed hat-trick hero Réver after his stunning performance in their 5-2 victory over rivals América Mineiro.
Réver netted three goals from defence as Atlético stormed to victory in the heated derby clash as they move back up to second, four points behind title rivals Cruzeiro with a game in hand.
Cuca was full of praise for his player: “He is important, quality, touch ball, positioning, a leader of the team.
“He is a dependable player, who is deserving of a call up and in the future will be again because the way he plays is above the average, or at least equal to those in the national team.”
In addition to praise his captain, Cuca made a point of praising his other players: “I think the level was satisfactory and the supporters who paid dearly, saw a great game.
“They leave the stadium happy and we have to enjoy this moment, playing well and with flair.
“Nobody here thinks they’ve won anything and that’s what gives me hope that we can achieve something this year.”
