Arsenal-owned midfielder Denílson has been involved in an argument with a São Paulo fan on twitter, after he was accused of not doing his best for the team.

A fan referred to Denílson on Twitter when he said “Just talking does not solve anything, [a player] has to show. It"s time to stop with the marketing and start playing football, honour the team"s shirt he says he loves".

Denílson insulted the fan on Twitter before deleting the message, generating an angry response from other São Paulo fans.

The fan that was insulted by Denílson then said: “You have insulted the wrong person, I am sure we will soon meet face to face and you will have to say that again. This is São Paulo".

Denílson tried to calm down the fans, by saying: “I have always tried to defend São Paulo"s shirt the best way. I"m tricolor people, let"s not let those things make us sad".

São Paulo have been struggling in Copa Libertadores, which is turning the fans against the players and the manager Ney Franco.
