Former Corinthians defender Betão recently joined Évian from France after playing for Dynamo Kyiv in Ukraine for many years.

The defender has a strong identification with Corinthians, having played for the club from 2001 to 2007, before moving to Santos and to Dynamo Kyiv.

He left the Ukrainian team in 2012, and was linked to several Brazilian clubs, but he chose to join Évian from France instead.

Betão is still wanted by Brazilian club but he has ruled out a return to Brazil, since his wife is pregnant, he believe France is the best place to raise the child, he told ‘iG Esporte’ the following: “I usually don’t plan my future, I let things happen naturally, it’s always a pleasure to play for Corinthians, even those who never played there know how good it is”.

The Évian player did not completely rule a return in the future, he said “If i return one day, then it would be great, but I don’t feel any need to return to fulfill anything”.
