Following two goals for young forward Giva in a 2-1 victory over Mirassol on Thursday night, Santos captain Léo has spoken glowingly of the youngster"s recent progress.

Giva, 20, was integrated into the first-team squad last month after helping the club"s Under-19 team to success in the prestigious Copa São Paulo youth tournament.

Now impressing for the senior side, Léo for one has been impressed and hopes that the club"s other emerging talents can use the striker"s attitude as an example to follow.

He told reporters: "Giva is really at ease [in the first-team]. Of the kids, he is the best. He he has confidence and maturity, he"s scoring goals and helping with the marking, securing the ball from the front.

"Of the kids that have come up, he is the best prepared. I hope the others can use him as an example. It"s a good generation that is always wanting to help."

Giva signed for Santos in May 2012, joining the Paulista side from Baiano side Vítoria.
