Corinthians midfielder Renato Augusto is set to be out for a month, after damaging his left thigh in victory over Guarani on Sunday.

The midfielder, 24, who returned to Brazil from Bayer Leverkusen in January had started to find form in recent encounters, but is now set for a spell on the sidelines.

Having left the pitch injured during the game, the extent of the Renato Augusto"s injury was confirmed by club doctor Guilherme Runco on Monday morning.

He told reporters: “We will do a scan tomorrow afternoon to define the extent of the injury and there will be a recovery period. He"ll be out for 20-30 days, most, depending on the size [of the injury]."

The doctor also confirmed that goalkeeper Cassio should be fine to continue training this week after picking up a slight knock in the encounter.

Corinthians currently lie in sixth position in the Paulista table, looking in good shape to qualify for the playoff stage.
