According to reports in Lancenet, experienced manager Joel Santana is set to become the new manager of Bahia later on Monday.
With former manager Jorginho having been dismissed following a 5-1 humbling by local rivals Vítoria at the opening of the Fonte Nova, it appears that the club have opted to turn to Santana for a fourth time.
“I was contacted today [Monday] and the outcome we could have an outcome today," Santana told Lance. “Hopefully it will be as soon as possible. Football is like this, things happen very quickly.
“I"m very proud that Bahia have turned to me once more. Bahia is my second home. I have already won the Baiano championship four times, twice with Bahia and twice with Vitória."
Bahia were unable to be contacted by the reporters, but it is understood that a deal is virtually in place and should be announced later in the day.
