Alan was Braga’s hero as he scored the team’s only goal in their 1-0 win against Porto for the Portuguese League Cup final.

Porto dominated the game, James Rodríguez had the first chance to score in the 11th minute, after a cross from fellow Colombian player Jackson Martínez.

The Dragões had more chances near the end of the first half, but Abdoulaye Ba’s clumsy tackle shortly before the half-time gave away a penalty.

Alan converted it, and Braga finished the first halfwith the score in their favor. Porto also had to play the second half with only 10 men as Abdoulaye Ba was sent off for that penalty.

Both teams misplaced many passes in the second half, but James Rodríguez nearly equalized for Porto in the 58th minute with a header.

The Arsenalistas had a few chances to extend their lead in the end of the game, but Hugo Viana and José Luís wasted them.

Alan talked about the title after the game, he told reporters: “I’m happy that I scored but it’s the result that matters. I want to congratulate my teammates and I dedicate this trophy to the club’s president.”
