The Brazilian National Treasury presented an injunction to block the transfer of Dedé to Cruzeiro until Vasco pay part of their Treasury debts.

Dedé has already been presented by Cruzeiro, but the Rio de Janeiro FA will only send the paperwork to the Minas Gerais FA to complete the transfer after the problem.

Cruzeiro and Vasco received the decision early on Friday.

Vasco’s debt with the treasury is estimated in R$ 50 million (19 million Euros), the club are trying to find ways to revert the decision so the transfer can be completed.

The Rio de Janeiro FA issued a statement explaining the decision not to send the paperwork: “The Rio de Janeiro FA received a judicial order that blocks the transfer of Anderson Vital da Silva (Dedé). The reason for this decision is a case in the Federal Justice whose complainant is the Federal Treasury and respondend is Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama. The Rio de Janeiro FA will accept any and all Justice decisions.”

Vasco are currently in deep financial trouble, many of the players that helped the team finish in 5th place in the league last year have already left the club.
