QPR’s Fabio da Silva and Júlio César have been relegated from the Premier League as they drew with fellow strugglers Reading.

The goalless draw means that both teams are unable to catch either Aston Villa or Wigan Athletic who are scrapping to avoid the final relegation place.

César has been Harry Redknapp’s first choice goalkeeper for a large portion of the season until he was benched on Sunday over the fancy dress incident.

The Brazilian goalkeeper has been the topic of speculation over a summer exit and it looks unlikely the former Inter star will stay and play in the Championship.

Fabio on the other hand has been in and out of the side, although he started the game at the weekend.

The Da Silva twin is set to return to parent club Manchester United to rejoin Rafael who has enjoyed an excellent breakout season.

Fabio’s aim will now be to become part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s plans for next season as Patrice Evra edges closer to an exit.
