Grêmio’s Bolivian striker Marcelo Moreno has been loaned to Flamengo until the end of Brazilian season, with an option to buy.

Marcelo Moreno is out of favor at Grêmio, and lost space at the club following the signing of Eduardo Vargas and Hernán Barcos.

The Bolivian striker will be paid a lower salary at Flamengo than at Grêmio, but he will be the club’s main striker, ahead of Hernane.

Flamengo have an option to buy Marcelo Moreno until October. The club’s director of football Paulo Pelaipe talked about the striker, he said: “He is an important player that fits in our wages reality.”

Marcelo Moreno’s father Mauro Martins affirmed recently that any player would dream of playing for a team like Flamengo.

He will be officially presented at the club by the end of the week, and Flamengo plan to also sign a right-back, a centrback and two midfielders.
