Udinese defender Danilo believes that his side are in a strong position to finish in a Europa League place come the end of the season.

The Zebrette beat Cagliari 1-0 on Saturday to move to sixth in the Serie A table, just one point behind fifth-placed Roma.

Danilo has insisted that if his team focus on themselves, they can still fight for a place in Europe.

The 28-year-old told Messagero Veneto: “In defence we have been playing well, but the whole team has found a nice balance.

“The results have been very positive at the moment and we are back in the block of teams fighting for a place in Europe.

“It"s difficult to pick a single name amongst Roma, Lazio and Inter [who could also challenge].

“I think it certainly helps that the two Roman teams are in the Coppa Italia final, perhaps they"ll waster more energy from a mental point of view.

“We just have to think about ourselves though and try to win as many games as possible."

Next up for Udinese is the visit of Sampdoria, before they face Palermo, Atalanta and then Inter on the final day of the season.
