Corinthians forward Romarinho played a crucial role in the Timão’s victory over Boca Juniors in last year’s Copa Libertadores final and the Brazilian cannot wait to face the Argentines again in La Bombonera on Wednesday night.

Romarinho, 22, came off the bench to score a vital equaliser against Boca in the first leg of last year’s final and is eager for the rematch in Buenos Aires.

He told Lancenet: "I am very cool [about the game], I cannot wait to come back in and give my best.

"I hope to score goals, but I know it will be difficult, it will be the rematch for them and speaking of Argentina and Brazil, everyone knows that it is difficult."

Despite his role in last year’s success, the youngster says that he is not sentimental about his achievements.

"I did not get anything in Buenos Aires or Japan, nor did I take any photos. My mother says that I have to take things, to keep memories, but I am not attached to those things."

And while the forward has a lot of competition for places at the club, he is determined to stay at Corinthians for a long while yet.

"I think of staying for a long time, I identify a lot with the club. And if the club do well, I will have chance to play for the national team."
