Flamengo’s goalkeeper Felipe has expressed his happiness for playing for the club, and that he is not sad about missing out Brazil’s Confederations Cup squad.

Scolari preferred to call up former Flamengo goalkeeper Júlio César as well as Botafogo’s Jefferson and Fluminense’s Diego Cavalieri instead.

Felipe told reporters about the call ups: “We know that those who were called up deserved it, Brazil have many good goalkeepers, two of those play in Rio de Janeiro and this is important for football here as it shows it’s not only São Paulo that have strong football.”

“Now I have to keep working, there is one year until the World Cup and anything can happen. But I have to do my job here so that a new opportunity comes.”

He completed: “But if the opportunity doesn’t come, I have to keep working and doing my best here at the club. My national team wear red and black.”
