Corinthians coach Tite says he will be doing everything possible to keep Paulinho in Brazil after the midfielder rescued a point for the Timão against Botafogo.
Paulinho netted a second-half equaliser to secure a 1-1 draw against the Fogão at the Pacaembu on Saturday.
Tite says Paulinho on current form is by far the best player in Brazil and even claims that he is currently superior to Neymar, who recently signed for Barcelona.
“At the moment, Paulinho is the best player in Brazil, even ahead of Neymar. Paulinho has been the better performer of the two this year.
“I hope he will not depart, but the interest has been here for years. The only thing I can do is hope and ask him to stay and leave after the World Cup.
“We will respect any decision because he is an extraordinary man. If it happens I will be rooting for him.”
