Dinei continued his goal scoring form from the state championships, as he scored a brace to help Salvador club Vitória claim a 2-0 victory over Vasco da Gama.

The first goal came in the thirty second minute when Damián Escudero set up his strike partner, who stole a yard in front of his marker to poke his shot into the goal.

Vitória‘s Maxi Biancucchi still boasts the best scoring record in the Brasileirão with three goals, but playing in an attacking midfield position tonight he was asked to be a creator, rather than a finisher.

Vasco had a couple of chances through Dakson and Pedro Ken, and saw a goal ruled out for offside even though the offending player, Carlos Tenorio, didn’t touch the ball on its way through to goal.

Tenorio had another goal similarly ruled out, even though replays showed he was well onside.

Vitoria made sure of the win when Dinei scored his second goal from the penalty spot, after a spot kick was awarded for Renato Silva’s slight push on Victor Ramos.

Wilson saved well from a Dakson free kick late on, and the result sends Vitória to the top of the table, at least for a day.
