Brazil have beaten Portugal 2-0 at the Parc des Sports in Avignon for the third round of the Toulon Tournament in France, reaching nine points in three games.

The Seleção quickly scored the goals, with Yuri Mamute in the 9th minute and with Danilo two minutes later.

João Schimidt could have extended Brazil"s lead in the second half but his penalty was saved by Portuguese goalkeeper Rafael Veloso.

Brazil will face Nigeria on Tuesday, the winners from each group advance to the final.

Manager Alexandre Gallo talked with reporters after the game, he said: “It was a tough game and a good win, we now have nine points in three games, and we need just adraw with Nigeria [to reach the final]."

He added: “We are not favorites to win this competition, France and Colombia are strong teams. We will return to Avignon this Monday to watch both teams play. We have a big chance of reaching the final, and we are happy about it."
