Roma are reportedly ready to renew their interest in unsettled Manchester City full-back Maicon.

The 31-year-old has been linked with a return to Serie A side this summer, having made just nine appearances since arriving at the Etihad Stadium from Inter last season.

And Maicon is now back in the Italian news after transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio suggested the Giallorossi have renewed their interest in the Brazil international.

According to reports, Roma are looking to secure him on a loan deal that would see City pay a percentage of his wages.

While Maicon’s value is thought to have fallen since he joined the Citiziens last season, no one is certain if the defender fits into new manager Manuel Pellegrini’s plans and he could be forced to leave.

Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport recently suggested Maicon could be included in a part-exchange deal for Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo.
