AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has confirmed that negotiations with Santos have ended over the potential transfer of Robinho, and that the player is “delighted” to be staying at the club.

Despite weeks of negotiations, it seems the two clubs and the player couldn’t agree on terms to complete a deal to see the Brazil striker return to Santos.

After hinting that a deal could still be struck with the Brazilian club, Galliani now accepts that Robinho will remain with the Rossoneri, adding to Milan’s now wealth of attacking players, according to Espnfc.com.

Santos abandoned their chase of the 29-year-old on Thursday as the striker’s personal terms were too difficult to meet, despite offering the player the chance to reduce his demands one final time.

“Robinho will wear Milan’s shirt once again next season,” Galliani announced at the unveiling of his club’s new kit.

“He never asked to be sold, but only to return home to Santos. No financial agreement was reached so Robinho is delighted to be staying with us.”
