Galatasary have completed the signing of Felipe Melo on a permanent basis from Juventus for €3.75 million.

The Brazil international has spent the last two seasons on loan at the Turk Telekom Arena, where he helped Galatasaray claim back-to-back league titles.

However, Melo returned to his parent club this summer, with the two parties still negotiating over a fee, and was linked with moves to Manchester City, Flamengo and São Paulo, among others.

But a deal has finally been agreed between the Italian and Turkish champions, which will see the 30-year-old net €3.1m per year.

“Felipe Melo will continue to wear the Galatasaray shirt,” a Juventus statement read.

“Having played in Istanbul for the last two seasons, the Brazilian will now, in effect, completely belong to the Turkish club.”

Melo, who has been capped 22 times by Brazil, was signed from Fiorentina for a reported combined total of €25m in 2009.
