Palmeiras have agreed to let Maikon Leite join Náutico on a loan deal, pending the medical.
Maikon Leite could have joined Ponte Preta but the negotiations did not work out, and Náutico became his best option as he plans to stay in Brazil’s top division.
Middle Eastern club Umm-Salal Sports also tried to sign the forward but the negotiations did not advance as the Qatari club tried to change the conditions originally agreed between the clubs.
Náutico will pay only a percentage of Maicon Leite’s wages, while Palmeiras will be in charge of paying the rest.
Maikon Leite will be on loan to Náutico for a year, without an option to buy. And they will have to release the player if an offer for him comes.
