Anderson came of the bench to help Manchester United rescue a late draw against Cerezo Osaka in their latest tour match.

The midfielder had to settle for a place in the bench to start the match as United fell behind to a goal from Sugimoto who gave Cerezo Osaka a half time lead.

Anderson replaced Phil Jones in the United midfield at half time and set about trying to get United back into the game.

Shinji Kagawa drew David Moyes’ side level against his former club on 54 minutes, moments after missing a penalty that was award for a foul on Ashley Young.

Rafael, who started the game at right-back, was replaced by his brother Fabio on 79 minutes, giving both da Silva twins some much needed game time.

Osaka then regained the lead after 63 minutes when teenage striker Takumi Minamino scored with a stunning 20 yard strike past Anders Lindegaard in the United goal.

With time all but up and Cerezo Osaka looking likely to secure the victory, Anderson helped save United’s blushes by crossing for new boy Wilfred Zaha to tap home in injury time.
